ELMHURST JUNIOR WOMEN'S CLUBS
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS


The Elmhurst Junior Women's Club is pleased to make available several applications for scholarships from our local chapter as well as the GFWC of Illinois.  Please click on the links for each scholarship to download an application.  If you experience any difficulty with the files, please contact info@elmhurstjuniors.org.



EJWC SCHOLARSHIP OFFERINGS

The Brenda J. Grabacki Leadership Scholarship is offered by the EJWC and will be awarded to a female high school senior who is a resident of Elmhurst.  She will have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) and demonstrate a strong community involvement.  The deadline for application is April 1, 2008 and the award is $1,500.

A woman who is over 21 and a resident of Elmhurst or within District 205 boundaries may apply for the Adult Woman Continuing Education Scholarship.  Qualified applicants must also be 21 years old or older and be involved in continuing her education to facilitate entry or advancement in the job market.  Anyone who has received a scholarship from the EJWC is ineligible to apply.  Applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2008 and the scholarship is for $1,500.



GFCW ILLINOIS SCHOLARSHIP OFFERINGS

Over $4000 in scholarships are provided by the GFWC Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs and are listed below.  All GFWC scholarship applications must be turned into the Elmhurst Junior Women's Club prior to the February 15th deadline to allow us time to get them mailed in a timely fashion.  Students will be notified by May 1st for that year's scholarships. 

The GFWC Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs Vocational Scholarship is offered to young women or men who live in the state of Illinois.  A high school graduate is preferred but if the school of choice does not require a diploma, the applicant must be at least 16 years of age (having no diploma).  Additionally, a full time student would be first choice; however, a working student with six hours of night school weekly would be considered.  Applications must be postmarked by February 15, 2007.   Two Illinois Cottage Park Ridge Scholarships are offered to girls in the amount of $500 each.  Two Lincoln Lodge Scholarships are offered to boys in the amount of $500 each. 

A college-age student majoring in the field of Health with the intention of making this their vocation may apply for the Vina A. Miller Memorial Scholarship offered by the GFCW Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs.  The applicant student must currently live in the state of Illinois.   Applications must be postmarked by February 15, 2007 and the award is $500.

Students currently residing in Illinois and having an interest in pursuin gstudy in the performing arts or a related area may apply for the GFCW Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs Performing Arts ScholarshipApplications must be postmarked by February 15, 2007 and the award is $300 for the Arthur Grant Smith Drama Scholarship and $300 for the Hamilton Ridge Music Scholarship.

The Lorado Taft Art Scholarship is offered by the GFCW Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs.  The applicant must live in the state of Illinois, have an interest in pursuing the study of art or a field with some form of artistic study.  Applications must be postmarked by February 15, 2007 and the award is $500.

The GFWC Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs Centennial Library Scholarship is for a person pursing a career in Library Science and attending an Illinois school in the summer or fall of the 2007 school year.  The qualified candidate must be enrolled either in a Master of Library Science (MLS) program or in a Library Technical Assistant (LTA) certificate program.  Applications must be postmarked by February 15, 2007 and the award is $300.

Financial assistance is available to a high school student with the desire to understand and live in antoher culture.  This applicant must be open-minded and currently live in Illinois.  The Illinois Cultural Exchange Student Scholarship is provided by the GFCW Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs.  Please note that this scholarship will be awarded in 2008.  The deadline is February 15, 2008 and the award is $1000.
