Beneficiaries are the reason behind the event.  We are pleased to be assisting two deserving charities in their efforts at bettering the lives of our neighbors within our community.  Our 2008 beneficiaries are:

Elmhurst Walk-In Ministry provides help for need families in Elmhurst and is made up of representatives from twenty churches and six community organizations, including the Elmhurst Police Department.  Financial assistance, counseling, food, medications and rental assistance are just a few of the ways in which the Ministry can aid those in need from our community.  For more information, please call 630-782-6006.

Daybreak of Elmhurst sole purpose is to help people break free of the welfare cycle.  Participants in the Daybreak of Elmhurst must pass rigorous criteria with financial budgets, work ethics, and reliability to qualify for the program.  In return, they receive free housing for a year in apartments paid for by Daybreak of Elmhurst as well as mentoring by two volunteer mentors.  The entire organization is staffed by volunteers - including the mentors.

EJWC Scholarship Fund provides scholarship opportunities to women with an Elmhurst affiliation.  Two scholarships are awarded; one to a female high school senior and one to an adult female continuing her education.  For more details, see the Scholarship portion of this web site.

If you know of a worthy charity that can possibly benefit from this event, please contact info@elmhurstjuniors.org so the organization may be considered for the future.
